Northside Auto Group Presents Hockey Fights Cancer
The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club hosted their 2023 “Hockey Fights Cancer” game night, presented by Northside Auto Group, on Saturday February 18th, when they hosted the Erie Otters.
For the Hockey Fights Cancer game, the Hounds wore limited edition Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys which were auctioned off in support of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund. The funds raised will support the High Breast Screening Program, specifically Dyna Serve which is the software necessary to run the Gamma Camera.
“Northside Auto Group was extremely proud to build upon our longstanding partnership with the Soo Greyhounds and present Hockey Fights Cancer Night in support of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund. The Sault Area Hopsital Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund is extremely important part of our community and we’re happy to play our role in helping those affected by cancer,” said Mario Palumbo, Dealer Principal, Northside Auto Group.
“Cancer is a disease that affects us all and this was a great opportunity for the people of Sault Ste. Marie to come together to raise awareness and funds that benefit people fighting cancer right here in our community,” continued Palumbo.
“Having access to local cancer care is critical to so many in our community,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “From diagnostics like imaging and lab work, to surgery, to radiation and chemotherapy treatment, to the delivery of custom medications mixed onsite in our pharmacy… the whole hospital is involved in cancer care. This outstanding local care is only possible thanks to critical medical equipment purchased with generous community contributions – like this one from the Soo Greyhounds and their Hockey Fights Cancer initiative.”
